جانور آدمی فرشتہ خدا
آدمی کی ہیں سیکڑوں قسمیں
barbaric and human, angelic, divine

even after death my love did not forsake
at my grave my desires kept a steady wake

چودہ برس کے سن میں وہ لاکھوں برس رہے
O lord no other lust may this heart contain
at this tender age may forever she remain

ہنس کے فرماتے ہیں وہ دیکھ کے حالت میری
کیوں تم آسان سمجھتے تھے محبت میری
seeing my condition, she laughs and asks of me
"Easy did you then imagine, loving me would be?"

سادگی گہنہ ہے اس سن کے لیے
youthfullness is itself an ornament forsooth
innocence is the only jewel needed in ones youth

حیا یک لخت آئی اور شباب آہستہ آہستہ
as she came of age she started to be veiled from me
shyness came to her at once, beauty then slowly
