एजाज़-ए-जाँ-दही है हमारे कलाम को
ज़िंदा किया है हम ने मसीहा के नाम को
life-bestowing miracles my poetry can claim
glory I have now restored to the Messiah's name
मोमिन ख़ाँ मोमिन
गो आप ने जवाब बुरा ही दिया वले
मुझ से बयाँ न कीजे अदू के पयाम को
though you may have replied to him as rudely as you claim
don't tell me what was in my rival's message, just the same
मोमिन ख़ाँ मोमिन
माँगा करेंगे अब से दुआ हिज्र-ए-यार की
आख़िर तो दुश्मनी है असर को दुआ के साथ
to be parted from my dearest I will pray now hence
as after all prayers bear enmity with consequence
मोमिन ख़ाँ मोमिन
'मोमिन' ख़ुदा के वास्ते ऐसा मकाँ न छोड़
दोज़ख़ में डाल ख़ुल्द को कू-ए-बुताँ न छोड़
for sake of God! momin from leaving this house refrain
let paradise to hell consign, leave not the idol's lane
मोमिन ख़ाँ मोमिन
ताब-ए-नज़्ज़ारा नहीं आइना क्या देखने दूँ
और बन जाएँगे तस्वीर जो हैराँ होंगे
how can I let her see the mirror, she lacks strength to see
a picture she'll herself become, stunned by the imagery
मोमिन ख़ाँ मोमिन
तुम हमारे किसी तरह न हुए
वर्ना दुनिया में क्या नहीं होता
your love by any means I could not gain
Or else in life what would not one attain
मोमिन ख़ाँ मोमिन
तुम मिरे पास होते हो गोया
जब कोई दूसरा नहीं होता
in such a manner are you close to me
when no one else at all there ever be
