seeing my condition, she laughs and asks of me
"Easy did you then imagine, loving me would be?"

बअ'द मरने के भी छोड़ी न रिफ़ाक़त मेरी
मेरी तुर्बत से लगी बैठी है हसरत मेरी

long even after death my love for her remains with me
my longing stays back clinging to my grave expectantly

मैं ने आग़ोश-ए-तसव्वुर में भी खेंचा तो कहा
पिस गई पिस गई बेदर्द नज़ाकत मेरी
